Date: 1 May 1995 22:57:43 -0500 Organization: UTexas Mail-to-News Gateway Lines: 117 Sender: nobody@cs.utexas.edu Message-ID: NNTP-Posting-Host: news.cs.utexas.edu I was listening to the radio yesterday, and I heard a few bars of a song that I thought sounded nice; I liked the way one measure led into the other. I tried to play it on my guitar, and then I just kind of ran with it. I ended up with the first piece of music (such as it is) that I've ever written. It doesn't have any words, and it doesn't really even have a melody, but it sounds kind of nice. And it's still in kind of a state of flux; I keep changing little bits here and there. Anyways, try it out and see what you think. Like I said, I've never written _anything_ before, so don't expect much. If you have any suggestions for new chords or patterns, let me know. If you think it's lame, don't let me know; I don't want to hear it. :) Oh, and for the record, the part I borrowed from Cheryl Wheeler's "Arrow" is the transition from D/F# to G, where it goes A-B-G. The rest of it came >from my head, although I have to give credit to Christine Lavin, Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Indigo Girls for some of the ideas. :) Adam UNTITLED (copyright 1995, Adam Schneider) [couldn't hurt!] ----------------------------------------- Capo at the 5th fret, standard tuning.
